Yesterday I went to another beautiful church in Rome for Sunday Mass. This church is officially called the Oratory of St. Francis Xavier del Caravita, but everyone there just referred to it as Caravita. The Oratory is associated with St. Ignatius next door, and thus is it also a Jesuit church (San Ignatius is a beautiful church and another one of my favorites, but that's another story for another day!)
Caravita has an English mass Sundays at 11am, which is the one which I attended with two of my friends. There were a fair number of people at this mass- it was actually the most people that I have seen in a church since I've been in Rome! The oratory is a small, but ornate and beautiful Baroque chapel that made for a wonderful and intimate experience. Everyone was very friendly, and there seemed to be a great sense of community. Afterwards, they had a little reception where everyone stood around eating drinks and appetizers.
After church, I spent the afternoon in studio finishing up some work on my project and doing other homework.
